Why I started my blog...

I recently read a book called "Shelter Me" in which the main character was going through a very rough patch due to the sudden death of her husband. Despite being left with two small children to parent on her own, she was in so much pain she couldn't function on a day to day basis. A friend advised her to start daily recorded one miracle she noticed throughout the day. It didn't have to be anything big, just something that helped her get through the day and remember what truly mattered.

This gave me an idea. We are truly blessed, but sometimes days go by when we fail to see that we are and recognize the things that get us through the day.

I was reluctant to view them as daily 'miracles' though, because of my strong beliefs in what the Bible teaches about this. 'Miracle' is defined as an event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God. While I do believe that God is present in the lives of those who diligently follow Him, I do not believe, that in staying true to the defintion, miracles are performed today as they were in the New Testament.

That's what lead me to my title of everday amazements.

'Amazement' means the condition of being amazed; bewilderment; overwhelming wonder, as from surprise, sudden fear, horror, or admiration.

This blog is mainly meant for myself, but family, and friends will hopefully benefit from it as well. Not only will I post things that continue to 'amaze' me, but also just things that are on my mind.

As a child of God may I never forget how richly I am blessed, and search for the amazement in everyday life.
